The discussion over the use of AI in various areas has been contentious, and it is especially heated in the realm of education. This AI tools have divided the education world, with some embracing and some banning it. Similar edtech industry such as Chegg recently released her Q1 report which state stock is trading at lowest level since April 2017, this is due to the market share lost to ChatGPT

Khan discussed the potential advantages of AI in the realm of education in a TED Talk that was published this week. He likened the possibility to a personalized instructor for each student.

“I think we’re at the cusp of using AI for probably the biggest positive transformation that education has ever seen,” he said. “The way we’re going to do that is by giving every student on the planet an artificially intelligent, but amazing, personal tutor.”

AI to Offers Personalized Tutors for Students

Khan demonstrated his academy’s chatbot, called Khanmigo, which can help students with a range of disciplines, including arithmetic, computer science, and writing, during his talk. As a part of a pilot program for Khan Academy’s partners, the chatbot was introduced in March. The chatbot has been made available to more than 500 public school districts and institutions so that they can test it out and offer comments.

Khanmigo is a technology solution that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to help both students and teachers in an educational setting. It is powered by GPT-4 technology from OpenAI.

According to Khan, AI might provide tailored support for instructors by assisting with pre-class responsibilities like lesson planning, completing report cards, and other administrative duties. He continued, “This means they can work with students more.”
