How to Activate Transaction Alerts via SMS or Email. Transaction alerts are a great way to stay on top of your account activity and detect any fraudulent transactions early on. GTB allows you to activate transaction alerts via SMS or email, so you can choose the method that works best for you.

To activate transaction alerts via SMS or email, you can use either Internet Banking, the GTWorld app or an ATM.

How to Activate Transaction Alerts via SMS or Email

Using Internet Banking:

  • Log in to Internet Banking with your User ID and password.
  • Click on Self Service.
  • Select Transaction Alert Activation.
  • Select the Account details and Alert type (SMS or email).
  • If the Alert Type option is Email Only, review the indemnity form.
  • Enter your secret question answer and Token code, and tick the Agree box.
  • Click review Agree and continue.
  • If the Alert Type is not Email Only, enter your secret question answer and click Submit.

Using the GTWorld app:

  • Open the GTWorld app and log in with your User ID and password.
  • Tap on the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the app.
  • Select Transaction Alert Activation.
  • Select the Account details and Alert type (SMS or email).
  • If the Alert Type option is Email Only, review the indemnity form.
  • Enter your secret question answer and transaction PIN.
  • Tap Done.

ATM

  • Locate any GTBank ATM nearest to you
  • Select your preferred language type
  • Insert card into ATM terminal
  • Enter your “PIN” and press “Proceed”
  • Select “Perform other transaction”
  • Select “More services”
  • Select “Register for SMS alert”
  • Enter your desired “Mobile number” and click on “proceed”
  • Enter “PIN” and click on “Proceed”
  • Confirm phone number displayed and press “Proceed” to update your Mobile Number

Once you have submitted your request, you will start receiving transaction alerts via SMS or email, depending on the method you selected.

Note: You can also activate transaction alerts at a GTBank branch.
